BRUSHETT HOUSE
PITCHED ROOF REPLACEMENT
Stoic Roofing & Construction undertook a 1,150m² re-roofing project at a retirement care facility in Bournemouth. The project was undertaken to address durability issues and improve thermal performance. A Redland Specmaster system, with 15-year guarantee, was used for longevity.
The roof consisted of solar panels, these were removed and reinstalled with a custom mounting system to fit the tiles and maintain full functionality.
Redland Regent concrete interlocking tiles were chosen for durability and looks. Redland felt battens and associated accessories were used to ensure compatibility and long-term performance. The solar panels were reinstalled using a new mounting system that fitted in with the new tiles.
The project had some challenges, the stripping of the existing roof and the removal and reinstallation of solar panels being one. The team worked with Redland to ensure all components were compatible and the solar panels were securely fixed to the new pitched roof. Achieving this required precision and attention to detail to keep the roof performing and the solar panels working.
The installation was done with precision, the team removed old materials safely and placed the new tiles carefully. Regular quality checks to ensure every part of the roof met Redland’s standards.
The project was managed to keep to time and budget. Logistical challenges were overcome by staggered material deliveries and cranes to store and handle the solar panels. Good communication and problem solving ensured a smooth process and the client was delighted.
