PITCHED ROOF INSTALLATION

Strip and application of a pitched roof at a care facility. Our client, a care home facility accommodating elderly residents, faced a challenge of an ageing, deteriorating pitched roof

Recognising the critical role of a secure and weather-resistant roof in providing a comfortable living environment, the care home sought a comprehensive pitched strip and re-roofing solution. The care home management, concerned about persistent leaks, reduced insulation, and the overall structural integrity of the existing roof, aimed to address these issues promptly to ensure the well-being of the residents. They emphasised the need for a roofing solution that improved functionality and also contributed to energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the long run.

Some of the challenges were:

Occupied facility: Conducting the strip and re-roof project while the care home was still occupied, necessitating a carefully planned and phased approach to minimise disruption to residents and staff.

Energy efficiency: Integrating modern roofing materials and techniques to enhance energy efficiency and reduce utility costs for the care home.

Regulatory compliance: Ensuring that the roofing project adhered to all relevant building regs, safety regulations, and considerations for a healthcare facility.

The pitched roof project not only resolved the existing issues of leaks and compromised insulation but also contributed to a more energy-efficient and comfortable living environment for the care home residents. The careful execution of the project, considering the unique challenges of an occupied facility, garnered positive feedback from both the management and residents.
