KINGUSSIE
PITCH ROOF REPLACEMENT
Situated in Kingussie in the Scottish Highlands, this £1.5m project saw Stoic Roofing & Construction deliver a large-scale re-roofing scheme for a live care home environment, procured via the LHC framework. The works involved a comprehensive pitched roof replacement using a combination of fibre cement tiles and Thrutone slates, providing a durable, long-term solution suited to the challenging Highland climate. In total, the project included 1,500sqm of tile replacements alongside 500sqm of hanging tiles.
Working in the Highlands brought a unique set of challenges, with the team operating in harsh and unpredictable weather conditions including snow, heavy rain, and high winds. Despite these elements, works were carefully planned and sequenced to maintain progress while ensuring safety and quality standards were upheld throughout. Delivering the project within an operational care home also required a considerate and controlled approach, with close coordination ensuring minimal disruption to residents and staff at all times.
The completed roofing system provides enhanced resilience against the elements, improving the building’s long-term performance and protection. Successfully delivered under demanding conditions, the project demonstrates Stoic Roofing & Construction’s ability to carry out complex roofing works in live environments without compromising on safety or quality.
