MK shopping centre was experiencing leaks on various flat roofs, and were looking to upgrade its roofing infrastructure with a new comprehensive felt roof replacement.

 

With a commitment to enhancing the shopping experience for visitors and tenants, the goal was to provide a durable, weather resistant solution with upgraded insulation while minimising disruptions to daily operations. 

 

Stoic roofing and construction conducted an intrusive site survey, identifying the saturated areas. By doing this we were able to conclude which roof sections could be overlaid and which needed stripping and a felt roof replacement. Our team developed a detailed project schedule, coordinating with the tenants to ensure minimal impact on their operations during the process. 

 

Aside from the new roofing system, Stoic also had the task of replacing the old smoke vents with new hydraulic units, meaning all the correct safety precautions had to be in place. Out of hours internal netting was installed to ensure the safety of the workers and public underneath.

 

The successful implementation of the new felt roof systems not only met the client’s objectives but also demonstrated the effectiveness of a strategic approach. Centre MK now boasts a resilient and weather resistant roofing system with upgraded insulation contributing to a more secure and comfortable environment for visitors.
